How old do I need to be to ride a Bublr Bike?
You need to be at least 14 years old to ride regular Bublr Bikes and 16 to ride ebikes.
My bike wasn’t docked correctly or isn’t registering as returned. What should I do?
If your bike isn’t registering as returned, please provide three photos as proof: one showing the bike at the station, one of the bike number (located by the back left pedal), and one of the dock number. Also, make sure to wiggle the front of the bike to ensure it latches in properly and that the bike is securely stuck in the dock (it should not be easy to take out). If proof is not provided, you risk being blocked and charged. Please contact us immediately by emailing support@bublrbikes.org or texting 414-931-1121.
My pass is active. Why can’t I check out a bike?
Here are the top reasons:
- Your bike wasn’t docked correctly: Please return to the station where your last bike was docked and make sure it's properly secured. You may need to wiggle the front of the bike to ensure it latches in and is firmly in place.
- Your account might be delinquent or blocked: If you’re having trouble, your account could be flagged. Please reach out to us via phone, text, or email to check on your account status.
Are you affiliated with any scooter service?
No, we are not affiliated with any scooter service. Bublr Bikes is a locally operated nonprofit focused solely on providing bikes through a docking system. All of our bikes are docked at over 100 stations across Greater Milwaukee, including Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and West Allis. Our bike-share program is designed to be safe, accessible, and sustainable, and we’re proud to serve the community exclusively with docked bikes. We are not connected to any other bike-sharing or scooter networks.
Why do I sometimes see bikes lying around?
Bublr Bikes uses a docking system. If you find one of our bikes lying around, it’s likely lost or stolen. Since our bikes don’t have GPS systems and we’re a small team, we rely on the community to report bikes that aren’t where they should be. If you spot a bike that isn’t docked properly, please let us know right away. How do ebikes work?
Ebikes have an electric pedal assist motor that helps propel you up to 15mph. Simply turn on the motor with the button on the handlebar and start pedaling! Ebikes have a $1 unlock fee for non-Annual Passholders. If you have an Annual or Access Pass, you can use the ebikes without any additional fees! More information on ebikes:

How do I check out a Bublr Bike?
You can check out a Bublr Bike at any station with a kiosk, using your Bublr Pass Fob, or by downloading the BCycle App on your phone. Instructional videos:

Where can I find a Bublr station?
You can find all Bublr stations on our website or by downloading our Mobile App, which also allows you to view the service map, purchase a pass, and check out bikes. Map information:

Do Bublr Bikes riders need to wear helmets?
While helmet use is not required by law, many of our riders bring their own helmets. We strongly encourage all cyclists to ride cautiously, whether or not they wear helmets.
Can I ride a Bublr on the sidewalk?
In Milwaukee, adults are not allowed to ride bicycles on sidewalks, except in specific circumstances. If you need to be on the sidewalk, please dismount and walk your bike. Always use designated bike lanes or roads where available to ensure your safety and follow local laws.
Does Bublr Bikes have bicycles for people with disabilities?
Yes! Bublr Bikes offers side-by-side and single-seat trikes, with plans to add hand-crank trikes. These bikes are available at stations like Estabrook Park, South Shore Park, and Hart Park.
How can I purchase a pass?
You can purchase a pass at any Bublr station kiosk or through the Bublr Bikes mobile app. Options include:
- Single Ride: Charged per minute
- 24-Hour Pass: $24, full access for 24 hours
- Weekender Pass: $25 for 3 days of 2-hour trips
- 30-Day Member Pass: $30 for 30 days of unlimited 60-minute rides
- Annual Member Pass: $129/year for unlimited 60-minute rides
*A 7.9% sales tax fee is added to all purchases.
What are usage fees?
If you exceed the time limit for your pass, you’ll be charged 25¢ for each additional minute. To avoid extra fees, return your bike and check it out again to reset the timer. If you have questions about fees, contact us at 414-931-1121.
Can I use my Bublr Pass in another city?
Bublr Passes are only valid in the Bublr Bikes system in Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and West Allis.
When will my Bublr Pass key fob arrive?
Your Bublr fob will arrive by mail in about a week. In the meantime, you can use your credit/debit card at a kiosk or the Bublr mobile app to check out bikes immediately.
I lost my Bublr Pass. How do I get a replacement?
Call us right away if you’ve lost your pass. There’s a $5 replacement fee for a damaged or lost key fob. Contact support at 414-931-1121 or email support@bublrbikes.org.
Can I open multiple Bublr memberships under one account?
Each Bublr account can only check out one bike at a time. If you want to set up multiple accounts, you’ll need a unique email address for each account, though you can use the same payment information for each one.
What if a station is full or empty?
If a station is full or empty, use the "Station Full/Empty" option on the kiosk for nearby stations with available bikes or docks. For full stations, you can add an extra 15 minutes to your trip. Our mobile app also shows real-time station availability.
What if I have a flat tire?
If you experience a flat tire or any other issue, return the bike to the nearest station and contact us at 414-931-1121. We’ll take care of it for repair.
What if I’m involved in a crash while riding a Bublr Bike?
Dial 911 immediately if there’s an injury. Report the incident to the local police and exchange contact information with any other parties involved. Please notify us at 414-931-1121 for any assistance.
What is Bublr’s operating season?
Bublr Bikes operate year-round, though service may be suspended during snow emergencies or other severe weather conditions. We typically remove e-bikes and shut down lower-use stations from early December to mid-March. You can always check the status of stations on our map or app.
